Jacob>>> In WW2, we interned our Japanese-Americans. That was wrong, but it didn't hurt the war effort. <<<

In the same respect it didn't help the war effort. I believe the net effect was that it tied up a lot of American personnel (military and civilian), watching the Japanese that didn't need watching.

Right here in Western Colorado, there were Japanese running orchards (as they do today), and they were left alone even though the internment camps were about 200 miles away . Go figure.

A poorly thought out plan will haunt us for a long period of time and leave us victim to the law of unintended consequences.

Jacob, good point. > In WW1, we put up posters all over our country, calling the Germans "Huns". In WW2, we interned our Japanese-Americans. That was wrong, but it didn't hurt the war effort. In this war, we rely on the locals (people of the same race and religion as our enemy) for information and access.<

Of course whats pc and what is not continues to change - at least in this country. I think changing the name of the operation didn't hurt us at all and underscores that we are eager to respect all religions. Is anyone selling bL dartboards yet?
