Paul: One of the classic responses to VIX analysis is to say that it can "always go higher" when we are where we are now and when it is low, like at the end of June and July, people said "it could always go lower." At this point, the probabilities do not favor another leg up or two.

Your VIX chart resembles a parabolic blow off. If it were a stock, would you bet on another leg up or two?

On the other hand, we may get a retest of the VIX highs at some juncture.
