Expect a great many reappraisals of Bush.

Incredible how many people were blinded last year to the underlying strengths in this man. Just one example of the things that tipped me off that there was far more strength and quality of character in this man, particularly when it comes to overcoming obstacles, was how he permanently eliminated his serious drinking problem in the mid/late 1980s.

Unlike the heretofore prevailing public view that one needs to separate a man's public and private behavior, I think a persons private life can be an invaluable aid to judging what kind of leader he'll be.

In the post WWII era of TV politics, there's been far too much emphasis put on the media charismatic politician. The kind of superficial thinking this engenders vs looking at the more important underlying strengths and weaknesses a person has long been an undue influence on opinion leaders in the press and distorted public opinion.

Maybe one of the first good things to come out of this time of national trial is a major move away from that mind set. And a greater willingness to see people for who they are and what they do vs how they look when they read a speech someone else has written for them.

Great to see Mr Posner sees GW was the best choice and is big enough to admit he was wrong. Says alot about his character and honesty!
