OutSmart chosen by Alogent Corporation

Toronto, October 25, 2001 - SmartSales Inc. (CDNX:SA), announced today that
Alogent Corporation has adopted SmartSales¹ powerful and user-friendly
Customer Relationship Management Sales solution OutSmart. Alogent
Corporation will use SmartSales¹ OutSmart Workgroups to create a centralized
source of sales and opportunity data, thus freeing sales professionals from
administrative tasks and enabling them to focus more on customer
requirements.
Alogent Corporation is a leading international developer of payment
transaction processing solutions on open architecture systems. Headquartered
in Atlanta, Georgia, Alogent delivers high-performance, open-architecture
payment transaction software and computer consulting services to financial
and billing industries worldwide. The company¹s Sierra Clearing and Sierra
xClearing payment processing applications converge electronic and
paper-based information resulting in lower payment processing costs,
increased payment processing capacity and streamlined workflow for maximum
productivity.
The SmartSales CRM Solution will enable Alogent to effectively manage sales
opportunities across their global sales force and provide critical business
information to their management team to maximize revenue potentials.
"We want to leverage our best sales and business practices and ensure that
our sales teams are easily able to deliver exceptional customer service and
add value for our clients. We were looking for an effective solution that
we could put into place quickly, and one that did not add any administrative
overhead. Because we were already using Microsoft® Outlook® as our contact
manager and email client, SmartSales¹ OutSmart fit the bill. OutSmart
provided us with a virtually out-of-the-box solution that was not intrusive
to our IT infrastructure and easily supported our business requirements,"
said Mark Bichsel, Solutions Specialist, Alogent Corporation.
Alogent is deploying OutSmart in its international headquarters in the US
and its UK and European operations office. OutSmart will easily synchronize
data between Alogent¹s remote offices and their headquarters via email
without any user intervention, ensuring that senior management can
continually access current pipeline, forecasting and opportunity information
despite a 5 hour time difference between offices. Remote users who are
infrequently connected to the network can still access the full range of
OutSmart features from their own laptop computers. OutSmart will
automatically update changes between headquarters and the user whenever the
user makes a connection to the email system.
"There is a synergy between Alogent¹s mission and our own," said Nicolas
Sleeth, Chief Revenue Officer of SmartSales. "Alogent is maximizing business
performance by leveraging an easy to use CRM solution that helps them focus
on the needs of their customers. OutSmart coupled with Alogent¹s superior
customer commitment is a winning combination that will increase customer
retention, improve customer loyalty and drive successful business results."

SmartSales Records Reports Third Quarter Results

Toronto, November 12th, 2001. SmartSales Inc. (CDNX:SA), a provider of
Sales Force Automation solutions to leading businesses, reports
revenue for the nine months ending September 30th, 2001 of $1.7 million
compared to $312,000 for the same period in 2000. Revenue for the third
quarter of 2001 was $257,000 compared to $200,000 for the third quarter of
2000. The net loss for the first nine months of 2001 was $1,641,000 compared
to a net loss of $1,018,000 for the comparable period a year ago. The net
loss for the third quarter of 2001 was $1,037,000 compared to a loss of
$378,000 for the third quarter of 2000.

"Revenue growth year over year for the first three quarters of 2001 has been
substantial. SmartSales¹ performance in the third quarter of 2001 reflects
the general decline in overall IT spending as well as extended sales cycles
and decision delays", said Don Parker, SmartSales President and CEO. "Going
forward, we expect that some of the purchase decisions we had anticipated to
be closed by the end of the third quarter of 2001 have been delayed to the
fourth quarter of 2001 and first quarter of 2002. Our revenue pipeline is
solid and SmartSales continues to represent an inviting value proposition
within our marketplace for organizations looking for sales force automation
solutions."

The Company continues to experience positive market response to the
SmartSales OutSmart CRM Sales Solution as well as to its InSmart data
integration product as evidenced by the continuing new business being added
each and every quarter. The SmartSales solution¹s functionality, ease of use
and seamless integration with the Microsoft® Outlook® and the Microsoft®
Office® product suite presents a compelling business case to an increasing
number of companies.
