Things appear to be at a standoff at present. When we get through teaching our Northern Alliance allies in the use of our weapons and start fighting alongside them I think the tide will turn quickly.

Junger said the Afghans who bin Laden has conscripted don't have the stomach for fighting, they'll probably turn tail and run. But the forces that are there as volunteers from other countries are motivated, so there will be a fight, at least for a little while.

Once the tide starts to turn we'll probably see defections from the Taliban. They are a regime that imposed themselves and they aren't very popular.
