I just refinanced to get out of a Countrywide loan. They have never had the best rates in my opinion. I just did a 15-year 6 1/8 fixed (1/2 point) through my credit union. Also I am not so sure about lower rates soon because the banks aren't passing along all the savings to recover from all the bad loans and because WTC plus defense spending equals more borrowing that can't be avoided here. After years of the "Cinderella" economy I think the clock just struck midnight.
