I'll bet we're training the Northern Alliance in the use of our arms. I have a hunch we're putting together one hell of a fighting machine. I don't expect to see much razzle dazzle, this will be a ground war.

The obligation to repose a certain degree of trust in our leaders, as they undertake difficult responsibilities, does not terminate after a couple of weeks. I do not think we have heard either dove talk from Powell or mere chest beating from Bush. I think we have heard people trying not to tip their hand as they perform difficult diplomatic maneuvering, get their military logistics in order, and prepare the American people for a hard effort. But I am prepared to give those who actually have to answer for their actions some empathy as they labor to discharge their burden......

I read that Bush promised the Pope not to strike until the Pope was home. Sounds plausible.

Watching all those sweet young faces go off on deployment, I will wait most patiently until the total system is in place. Tactics before politics.
