btw, when's the last time you have a PSA test and a digital (nothing to do with ones and zeros) rectal exam?

...you're offering free screening exams...right?

Hah! Try a Needle Biopsy! I had two of them 4 years ago. That makes a rectal seem like fun! (No prostate cancer, that God!)

BTW, if you think we have rants, try this post on for size. I am amazed it has not been taken down. The last paragraph is beyond belief!

I'd award you a clean sweep

UF,
i am amazed at the cavalier attitude that so many west coasters have. could it be that the current round of attacks was 3000 miles away and ya'll just do not feel any of the threat yet?

i have given a brief presentation to several small groups here locally...2 ladies groups, 2 construction crews, a fraternal org lunch, a real estate office, a businessmen's lunch and others. they were taking notes and asking questions.

i found former military guys generally have a plan and some supplies...yesterday one guy asked me point blank before i started...what can we do? he said he told his wife that we should just stay home and let the police tell us what to do. i found out he has 4 kids at home, no military experience, and no idea what he could do.
i asked him to give me 15 minutes...after a coupla minutes he asked me stop for a moment so he could get some notepaper. he asked me a bunch of questions and called me at home last night...he was giving the pitch to his wife and she had some questions. we agreed to meet for early coffee this morning.

my point is that we are not helpless and defenseless to these attacks...there are some measures that are appropriate, inexpensive and will instill in family members a sense of confidence that something can be done and my family has a plan.

i am a firm believer that emergencies never go according to plan...but the plan needs to be made anyways. such a plan will help you remember what you are trying to accomplish and will provide a base line for decision making when things go awry.

i pray that no one here will need an emergency plan...but i am a realist...so far folks in oklahoma city, new york, the pentagon and pennsylvania have needed a plan, and our leaders are telling us that we may need a plan too.

forgetting the current problem for a moment...many of the things that i am advocating make good sense for other reasons...if you live in an earthquake zone, tornado belt or hurricane prone area you can get double value for your effort.

today, while you are having a grass (sprout) sandwich on the bridgeway in sausalito, or the big breakfast at gladstone's in malibu, or calamari and micro brews at happy hour in san jose, or grilled salmon on a pier in seattle, ask yourself if you believe this is strictly an east coast phenomena and if you are really comfortable doing nothing?

i'll rest the subject of civil defense for now...(Babe and Doc, didja hear that? are ya'll still awake?)...i just hope you are not completely out of the loop on this one.

btw, i believe the famous and heroic WWll unit that tim lamb was posting about
has been deployed overseas once again to an area very close to where hostilities are likely to happen.

i also believe that the first shots have been fired and the first firefights involving allied soldiers have occurred.
