FWIW: I decided that XLNX has dropped enough for one day, so I sold Jan 20 puts for 3.10. I also covered the 3000 BRCM short position at 22.92 and sold puts on the rest. HD is the one that drove me nuts. I had picked 39.95 as my (upwardly modified) exit point. But it kept fighting all the way to the end so I ended up settling for 36.25, and look where it closed! Having covered a good chunk today, my current stance is 60% short 40% long.
