Here in Switzerland nobody is alarmed about the American economy because it hasn't affected us yet. And if does slow down it won't be nearly as bad as in the USA. And if one does lose his job, the unemployment insurance is second to none.

FWIW, I happened to see three furniture stores holding "going out of business" sales this weekend when I was running my errands. These would have started within the past month and before 9/11.

Earlie, since 9/11 lots of people are getting serious about life insurance, according to my girlfriend in the biz. People who have insurance already are getting more coverage; more common is people who have none coming in for a big policy.

I would imagine that setting up trust funds, writing wills, etc. is on the rise as well.
