"Can anyone think of an alternative use for technical colo space? I have a big supply in a few cities which probably would never fill up with carriers alone, and I was trying to think up other uses." Disaster Recovery and "swing space" for relocations.Very timely applications these days, to be sure, especially D/R. D/R trading desk and regular workplaces equipped with desktops and high-cap availability.

You might want to contact Sungard and Comdisco to see if they are interested. The following link begins to demonstrate what I'm referring to re: D/R. The fact that you have regular carriers in those colos could very well present an attractive prospect to them, since setting up carrier access is one of the largest expenses and potentially the longest time-consuming processes in setting up these kinds of accommodations. comdisco.com
