Cary, are you trying to hold up the market single handedly?! Even my pessimistic view proved too optimistic. I really thought QLGC had seen its lows and was very surprised by its afternoon action yesterday. Then I thought we'll have a bounce this morning, and the over seas markets did move up, but no cigar for me. Anyway, I think you should look at the P/S and GM valuations in 91-92 time frame and price accordingly.

just a thought,
ST

PS there are fundamentally good reasons for the fall. I don't think that it is just fear or terrorism that is driving the market.

RESEARCH ALERT-Goldman cuts chip sector profit view
NEW YORK, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs on Thursday said it cut earnings and revenue estimates across the board for the semiconductor companies it covers as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks.

``Let's be frank: There are a lot of moving parts in the sector at the moment, and our assessments of near-term revenue and earnings trends involve a lot of guesswork, both pre- and post-9/11,'' analyst Terry Ragsdale wrote in a research report.

``Data points since 9/11 have been limited, though the hits to consumer and corporate confidence clearly suggest ratcheting down assumptions for the next few quarters,'' Ragsdale wrote.

The companies covered by the estimate changes include Analog Devices Inc. (NYSE:ADI - news); Linear Technology Corp. (NasdaqNM:LLTC - news); Maxim Integrated Products Inc. (NasdaqNM:MXIM - news); National Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:NSM - news); Texas Instruments Inc. (NYSE:TXN - news); Altera Corp. (NasdaqNM:ALTR - news); Lattice Semiconductor Corp. (NasdaqNM:LLTC - news); Xilinx Inc. (NasdaqNM:XLNX - news), and LSI Logic Corp. (NYSE:LSI - news)

Following is a summary of Ragsdale's semiconductor earnings per share (EPS) estimate changes (figures in parenthesesrepresent projected losses):
