Kash, thanks for the insider Intc report. Funny speech, he says that he is not announcing new layoffs. OTOH, he says that if sales don't recover by early 2002, well, 20,000 of you will be gone. Ouch!

Barrett's speech is standard corporate America. Jerry's speech is Star Wars stuff. Most entertaining pair of stocks in America.

re: We announced about three quarters ago that we would expect to reduce our headcount by about 5,000 employees by the end of this year. We've been successful in this program, and I think we will exceed that number of 5,000 by the end of the year.

Is he talking about lay-offs or profits, I am confused
