I've used Schwab website to buy Canadian-listed stocks, using the 5 letter US code for them. Doesn't work unless the stock has such a code--it may be referred to as "CUSIP."

I did have to call a Schwab broker to get a quote, a currency translation, and then I did my own calcs to place my limit order. If I recall there was a fee for the currency conversion of as much as a penny per share.

It has been so long since I used Schwab I am not sure but think the commish was $19.95. You do take a hit with currency conversion but that is the same for every broker unless you have an account in canada.
