There is no one considered to be such a Voice of the Volk in the United States, nor is there likely to be. Incidentally, the origins of such a notion of "organic democracy" are to be found in Rousseau, who considered parliamentary government flawed, and looked to leaders who could articulate the General Will (of the people)........
