I have always been amused by the people who say that Reagan orchestrated the release of hsotages BEFORE he was president. Do conservatives believe this, or is it stricly whining from the left? Did he really do it iyo? It's one of those arguments that if you are on the left it seems like you are damned if he did it AND damned if he didn't do it. Either way, their guy couldn't do it, and Reagan could. I personally feel that they knew what they were up against in both cases (Carter and Reagan) and they acted accordingly. Went in the face of the weaker pres, and immediately fessed up with a tough one. My theory of course is based on common sense, so many on the left won't buy it.
