Dave- one wonders about the GTW departure, and whether AMD chose not extend terms

Interesting point. Also it seems pretty clear that Intel pays (in one sense or another) OEM's to announce that they are going all-Intel. In a normal business environment, a company doesn't publicly announce that a particular vendor will not be used. But Intel craves the propaganda victories, which do inflict some real pain on AMD by causing a decline in the stock price. And, as students of Intel know, Intel doesn't mind playing dirty (read the book Inside Intel).

Dave,

Good spin, AMD dumped Gateway, not the other way around. Just a fiscally conservative move by a company that doesn't care about market share.
