long-gone, I can't say how long this deal will take nor can I say how long such a deal usually takes.

From the beginning there were apparently criticisms from certain large US stockholders that the offer price was too low. The situation has also been complicated by Goldfields having subsequently made a bid for some Australian gold assets at a price equivalently higher than the AU bid for Normandy.
