I don't know if you saw Charlie Rose last night. His guest Sebastian Junger (Perfect Storm,Fire) has lived in Afghanistan. He said that the Taliban are young and will give up fairly quickly. The big problem are the professional guerrilla fighters living in caves. They are hard to find, they attack at night, they don't give up, they are deadly. It took Russia 2 days to overtake Kabul. After ten years, and a loss of 15 to 25 thousand troops, they had to give up. Junger, who seemed to know what he's talking about, thinks rooting out those terrorists will be very costly in every sense of the term.
