On NT, you will normally have to switch to the regular VGA driver, uninstall your current driver, then replace the card, boot up with the VGA driver, and install the new driver.

If you have installed the NT Plug and Play support, though, this may not be strictly necessary.

However, it depends somewhat on the specifics of your driver. I would recommend following this procedure in any case.
