You must not know any lapsed Catholics.-g-

Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.

If someone's parents raised him or her in an observant Jewish household, but he or she becomes an atheist, what is would you call that persons' heritage?

Only other serious madmen, with the ability to cause havoc, chaos, and destruction.

IMHO, without faith and observance, a Jew is not a Jew

You know Jews have argued about this for centuries, and generally wound up by saying, if your mother's Jewish and you haven't converted, you're a Jew.

Do you really want to be setting yourself up as an example of an observant Jew who can define for other Jews who is in and who is out?

You didn't by any chance write this Internet post on Yom Kippur? Maybe some even more observant Jew might think that you don't qualify either?

Are you sure you don't want to rethink certain inconsistencies in your position?

Leave it to Rabbis to decide who is officially a Jew...
