The Catholics believe you are a Catholic unless you profess another religious faith (which he didn't) or are excommunicated. Hitler was not excommunicated, was he?

I have not heard that Hitler was raised Catholic. He did live in Austria, which is mostly Catholic, so maybe so.

If he was raised Catholic, then he certainly rejected his faith. Which isn't the same thing as a lapsed Catholic.

However, if he was able to make a good Act of Contrition before he died, then he is forgiven. Even Hitler can be forgiven by God. Man, not being divine, will find it hard to do.
