Strange suspicion you have. Kind of like how GWB "stole" an election he legitimately won? This is the 1st time I have made a connection between those two events. Not sure of your position on the Florida situation, but if you feel like many dems, it looks like you are saying two out of the last 3 repub presidents have cheated their way into the office. Doesn't the absurdity of that strike you at all? "Nevertheless, had he been able to secure the release of the hostages, he might have won the popular vote" This is not evidence of any kind at all btw. I assume you base your opinion on this matter on more info than that provides, which is zero.

Jimmy Carter has PROVEN himself to be one of the greatest human beings we EVER had for President... I don't care what the righties here say....I'd like to see BUSH, RAYGUN or ANYONE try and deal with the FIRST OIL EMBARGO that hit the US and the world economies during that period. No one could battle against that in the short run and win. The CIA failure, which they have owned up to since then, got him to be at the point of the hostage crisis. How little the country learns from the past. Not ONE of those people were killed, and I have personally met 2 of the hostages after they were RELEASED. The fact is, had they been released DURING THE ELECTION against RAYGUN....CARTER WOULD HAVE WON. my non humble opinion and distrust of all Ron stood for and the tactics he and the secret government employed during the election and certainly AFTER the election in Central America. CC
