ROFLMAO! This is even funnier than everything I read on the Laughter thread...actually I thought of the idea of allowing one to trade losses so that I could sell my carry forward losses to someone who's use them to offset his gains. Corporation already do this so why now people?

PS The magnitude of drop in NDX is not far of from the DJIA drop in 1932. Those K-Wave guys may have been on to something.

I may as well give the speech to the grandkids now via digital video. "Kids, even if I never meet you it is almost a foregone conclusion based on my incredibly inept market timing that you will pay very little, if any, in taxes for most of your working lives. Your dad has my DNA, he'll only add to windfall of losses you get. Buy bonds, stop the cycle."

mike suggested a barter or perhaps an 'eBay'-like approach to loss carryforwards, but they're already so darn so finicky...
