Don't know what is going to get things going over there, certainly low (no <ggg>) interest rates have not done it. They keep talking about banking reform but entrenched interests seem to be stalling it. They also seem to go thru 'leaders' in what seems like a matter of months. Well, at least we will know the real estate market has topped out when we sell them Rockefeller Center again <ggg>.

Regards,
John

The Japanese, I think, have been vaguely thinking about negative interest rates

AFAIK, they do have negative real (not nominal) interest rates.
