the only problem is, markets have no time for bureaucratic mandates, except for limited time periods. as i've said in the past, if indeed the price is artificially suppressed (and in view of the grotesque amount of outstanding gold loans we can probably state with some confidence that that's indeed the case), the price adjustment that will follow once the market decides to flip the 'mandate' the bird should be violent and go much further than anyone now thinks possible.
