well, between the two, the so-called 'war on drugs' is even more futile.
but in the final analysis both wars will never even come close to delivering the intended results, but will continue to gobble up resources and like you say are not conducive to furthering the ideals of liberty.
freedom has become a catch phrase, frequently invoked, but not really taken seriously anymore.
