jordan, when I first bought qcom I used to get the same type of responces. It is only when an investement product is trully discredited by all that it becomes a real homerun Opportunity. Gold has been a wealth Barometer for thousand's of years. Despite what your told the treasury is not a safe haven, yields will back up and the dollar will decline. If anything a TIP is a better bet(inflation adjusted bonds). The less people believe the more I believe. We have built up a huge credit bubble that when unwound will debase all paper assets. I only buy Gold miners most of them pay Dividend's and trade at very low valuations so the downside is very low. Meanwhille my golds are up 20-30% already and NEM over the last 4 years has outperformed CSCO.
