A disclaimer: I am not anti-US or Anti-Americans. I am anti-America as the nation state. The people, both in Afghanistan and the US- in general are normal people like anywhere else.
The problem are the governing elites manoeuvring them as a mass for their purposes. OK, you guys in the US don't have, or don't find the interest to watch or read several other sources of information to form an opinion.

I do. I watch German, British and French sources. The French channel brought a documentary showing a Afghan inside his house with the AK-47 on the floor and a couple of kids playing with it.

He was explaining he was tired of the whole situation, His father had to fight, he has to fight and he doesn't want those two boys to fight. When asked what he wants the boys to do he replied: I want them to go to school so that they live a better life than this one I live.

The people are usually OK. But the nation-state and its army of fat cats bureaucrats are the problem. They use people to get their dirty deals done.

The nation-state is a dangerous anachronism.

Hello Snowshoe, After a 4 hour ride to Tokyo, a four hour layover, and another five and half hours ride in a 747 transporting around 90 passengers, I am now at Kailua, staring at several miles/kilometers of sand, under the beautiful conditions that Hawaii can be, under the hegemon's protection. I just had a big breakfast of Hawaiian smoked sausages, two eggs over easy, hash browns, and am sated with Starbuck’s Ice Coffee.

Is the world fair now? No. Was it ever fair? Again no. Can it be fair? Yes, but only if all countries and peoples work diligently. Is this idealistic? Yes.

I agree world order is called for, and given the technological advances making disorder genuinely alarming, a new order will be necessary. However, the existing order will have to be for a while. I think if the US quits now, or hints at wanting to quit, all should then quickly seek shelter given the then resultant power vacuum. In order for the US to take it easy, it needs to build up other ‘enforcers’ able to keep local/regional peace, all serving the goal of globalization and order, else, chaos and maximum disorder that will not serve anyone’s genuine interest.

I do not know what the new order has to be, in order to be practical and executable.

Meanwhile, I intend to visit CompuUSA for the latest games, and rap with my friends about stocks, bonds, real estate, and what we are all concerned about ... keeping what we have worked for under the current order.

Chugs, Jay
