I have this recurring nightmare. There's this IRS Special Agent I know. I dream she's been named to be a Sky Marshal. I wake in a cold sweat. The thought of this Agent, with her gun, loaded, on a full Boeing 757 is a truly frightening thought.

Does this comfort you? What about a federal "flying" license, one with your picture, finger print, and background information on a magnetic strip?

People who submit to the background investigation are allowed to board without Israeli-like searches.

The idea is to willingly give up your privacy for 'ease' of travel.

I think we are getting closer to the idea of a federal ID card.
