>>Did you approach this with a truly open mind as to the truth or falsity of it or were you predisposed for some reason to disprove the Scriptures.<<

I consider it impossible to approach any situation/story from a completely dispassionate, objective stance (unless the subject matter is limited to a page of text and emotionally neutral subject matter). The best I can hope to do is to alternate between several opposing viewpoints and learn as much as possible from each. I admit that most of the scriptural information I've obtained have come through a polemic lens. But I don't think this invalidates any insights gained from it.

>>I felt Paul was so truthful about his teachings...<<

I consider most of his writings to be authentic in the sense that he really did write it, and what we have today of his writings are largely unchanged from what was originally written. The early date and wide dissemination of his letters supports this. The truthfulness and accuracy of what he says is another matter. His credentials of training under Gameliel is little more than wishful-thinking. His experience on the road to damascus was very real (to him), but probably not shared by his companions as he states.

My uncle spent alot of time expounding Paul, and I think you probably would have enjoyed him. (I obviously did not see things on the same level as him).
