Regarding daytrading classification and margin -- goes into effect today -- counting starts Mon. Part only applies to accounts less than 25k -- one part that doesn't is you can't trade more than 4 times your equity in one day ...

Confusion on the boards -- was that you couldn't use margin at all in accounts less than 25k after today -- that is incorrect. But if you are classified as a pattern daytrader you cannot -- to get this classification you have to do 4 daily in-and-outs -- within 5 business days -- once classified as such you are always such.

I have one account that has less than 25k in it -- but the rule isn't a problem for me as I simply don't do that in and out stuff in the same day.
