Well, that's the interesting part. You're right that he's not cool headed right now. But if that's what he is thinking, I can only imagine what less level heads are thinking. One more attack will probably tip those people right over the edge, I fear.

1/3 of Americans polled already favor internment camps for Middle Easterners. So now I understand the Japanese internment camps during WWII, and how ordinarily level headed people like Earl Warren, then California governor, could have signed the order. I don't agree with the sentiment.

OTOH, I do favor tightening up existing immigration laws, e.g., picking up everyone on an expired student visa, expired tourist visa, and expired work permit, and making them leave or renew their permits.

I've been going through metal detectors for years now, to get into government buildings, so maybe my comfort level is different than people who are just being introduced to these ideas. Ever since the trial of Mir Amal Kasi and the Oklahoma City bombings, security has been tight around here. BTW, my husband works for the Federal Government less than a mile from the Pentagon, not too far from Reagan National Airport. So I have a reason to worry.
