As the board of inquiry found, the Israelis did try to verify just that, and were told no, it's not American! Of course, no evidence will satisfy you.

I find it Interesting that the Israeli apologists complain about the lack of a Hebrew translator on board the Liberty. Are they saying that the Israeli military doesn't have people who speak English? That is truly absurd. Notice how the Israelis actually made a concerted effort to block communications with the Liberty: <<< A "USS Liberty" survivor, Lt. Cmdr.
