John, anyone else see this one from Briefing, apparently on Wednesday? Could it be Osha came up with something positive about Intel and the PC market (but is staying low key about it)?:

from Briefing.com
10:08 ET Merrill on Enterprise Hardware : Merrill Lynch surveyed 110 US CIOs between late July-early August. Firm says Sun/Hitachi partnership will be a factor as 52% of EMC customers plan to evaluate the Sun/HDS product and 72% expect Sun/Hitachi to take share or at least intensify pricing pressure on EMC. Also, a 2002 PC and laptop refresh appears to be in the offing with 46% of CIO's planning to be "aggressive." IBM may see the most margin from this due to its notebook business. HP/Compaq will benefit even more as a combined company as it achieves roughly 33% of its revenues through PC sales...Software spending, after having dropped from 25% growth in 2000 to 13% in 2001, should modestly accelerate to 15% in 2002.
