Just a thought, but I wouldn't look to a Nixon aide for advice on how to run the economy or the country, given the political, economic and international events of 1969-1974. The current difficulties have not hurt so many as badly as that chaotic era.

There's a good reason we hounded that crowd out of office (and some into jail).

Writes a column for The American Spectator. Used to write for the Wall Street Journal.

His father was Herbert Stein, who was an economic advisor in the Eisenhower administration.
