Sun OT Travel,

That is an interesting set of countries, especially Tajikistan. Can you go where you want over there or is there alot of red tape?

I've visited UK Luxembourg Belgium Holland Germany Austria Yugoslavia Bulgaria Turkey Israel Greece Italy France Spain Iran Afghanistan Pakistan India Morocco Hong Kong Indonesia Taiwan PRC South Korea Japan Thailand Peru Mexico Guatemala Canada (of course). Maybe forgetting a few.

I have a similar travel philosophy. Studied Urdu in college and French in high school. I try to travel light for maximum mobility. When my camera was stolen enroute to India I was sorry for a day but figured it was time for it to go. Like to stay long enough to get lost and find myself again. Prefer to travel with no (airline) ticket at all. Going overland--bus, train-- less culture shock, easier to see how cultures, food, music, blends and crosses borders.

Are you of Chinese extraction? If so, how many generations have your family been in N. America?

Sam

Sun,

How many times have you gotten sick while traveling?

And how were you treated in Burma? The SLORC regime is one step removed from the Taliban.
