That's why I have insurance. And it's why I pay taxes for a police force, and a legal system that will represent my interests against such a criminal... But if I lived in a lawless society where there was no insurance, and no police department, and the only security I possessed was what I had in my gun cabinet.... then you'd be right... It would be my fault. And I would get some pay-back just as soon as I found the culprit who stole it. And since there is no law, or police department I have to listen to (only my noisy neighbors), then no one will stop me. Look at the terrorists who held Israeli athletes hostage and shot them dead at the Munich Olympics. The Israelis hunted them down and killed all of them, except for one. Hawkmoon
