The site is conservative/libertarian so I imagine it's popular with military types. It's well thought of in conservative/libertarian circles. No reason to deliberately post misinformation. It might be an early leak. I see a lot of sources are reporting that US and British Special Forces have been there for a couple of weeks - this is the first report I've seen of actual engagements and casualties. OTOH - a lot of hard liners are getting impatient, so it may just be red meat for the hawks.
