"It is ironic that Bush has given us a larger federal government and a more intrusive federal government"

I don't know that "W" had a choice. "W" is not an educated man. He was almost a failure
as a university student. He ran a failed business. He hid in the Reserves, like Ashcroft, and
avoided VietNam.

"W" does not have a strong track record as a public servant. It is well known that he didn't work
very hard when he was Governor of Texas. I've read that he hates to read long books. He hates to read reports. He can't sit through long meetings. In short, he has never had an intellectual or curious interest in governing.

"W" would be unable to cope with this catastrophe unless he was propped up by others
No doubt his father tells him what to do. My main point is: many people must
prop him up in order to make him look Presidential because he lacks the education and the necessary skills
to make decisions. Does anyone actually believe he writes his own speeches, for instance?

We know that he hardly every traveled outside the United States until he stepped into the White House with the blessings of The Supreme Court and with the help of Jeb Bush's Republican machine in Florida so it no wonder
he wasn't interested in foreign affairs so no one should have been surprised when he appointed Rice to National Security since she wanted to pull us out of NATO initially. I believe it was on the day of the terrorist attack, September 11, that a major newspaper editorial lamented the fact that we didn't have a foreign policy.

Since "W" is unable to cope with this disaster from anything that he might have learned in the past, I'm not surprised that he has had to build a larger federal government." W" is an ignorant man. He must rely
on others to pull the US out of this mess.
