The article even mentioned Optical Access. It would be just too sweet if part of the reason for Terabeam's cut back was loss of sales to Optical Access. I guess we may get a hint soon in the CC. If MRVC isn't warning, they must be getting sales from somewhere to make up for the LMNE shortfall.

Terabeam schizophrenia

I'm a carrier, no I'm a technolgy provider...Terabeam is trying to be both and with the business models of any sort of broadband carrier/CLEC/carrier's carrier being eyed with skepticism if not outright derision regardless of technology (Teligent, WinStar, MFNX, GBLX, COVD, Rhythms, Northpoint, @Home...need I go on), new funding will be tough to get-especially for what is seen as an unproven technlogy in the carrier space. Got $500 M from Lucent. et al, $275 M left. The sugar daddy's pockets are empty, you aint as desirable as you used to be, and the only way to make what you got last is to scale back and control costs. I would say these layoffs are less due to competitive pressure than a CFO sleeping poorly.
