Jim, Sat, Ten:
okay, the crux of this matter is whether the man said something unamerican like: 'I hate you Americans, just let me smoke in peace, you all deserve to die'... or rather something like 'I outta steer this plane into a building, or take it to the ground, would that allow me smoke, you filthy Americans?'

The USA Today article said his actual threat was not released to the public. " Authorities refused to describe the threat." My guess is you don't get a pilot's determination to go back to departing airport and a two fighter escort for the former, but boy oh boy for the latter. Keep in mind it is being termed a 'threat' not a statement or rhetorical question like' Do you all want to die' as opposed to say 'You are all going to die.'

All in all not too bright, but public deserves to know the uttered threat.

Jim, Re: What is says is: move to America, break the law, when you get arrested, claim discrimination, get a Lawyer, sue and cash in...

That sounds very American to me, this guy has adapted to the American way fast.
