That's fine and dandy when everything is hunky-dory, the way liberals think the world exists. But we just let that bs liberal attitude blow away over 6000 of our fellow citizens. I guess all this sensitivity bs makes you liberal assholes want to make that okay since we have caused collateral damage loss of life during wartime operations. A good liberal says as long as it's not me, I'll support criminal actions. I already heard a lawyer on Oreilly saying he'd defend bin Laden. No doubt a card carrying ACLU member. I say Specter better open his eyes to the real world. I don't know what it's going to take to open some of our own citizens' eyes.knc

<< as well educated as you are you know that "preventive detention" has always been a very tricky area in this democracy because the Bill of Rights and the rule of law requires that a crime be in the planning stage (provable) or a conspiracy exists, or a crime committed in order for anyone to be detained against his/her will while the links are being established more fully. Abuse of this power is what concerns thinking people, whatever their politics.>>

let's see...i didn't realize that detaining a NON citizen who our country has reason to believe might be a terrorist had anything to do with the Bill of Rights....maybe i should re-read the Bill of Rights. i could be wrong.... of course, i'm not much of a "thinking" person...
