Well that was supposed to be FAB money...otoh..
I admit...AMDs marketing is just plain stupid.
It's also hard to get the OEMs behind such a campaign since Intel subsidizes their adds.
I can see it now...a Compaq TV Ad...the usual Intel logo pops up with the little jingle. da dum da dum...
Then and AMD logo pops up with another jingle...A Mmm Deee (or whatever).

Watching TV...Craig Barrett reaches for the first phone he can find...

Barrett:"hello Compaq?, gimmie Mike"
"Hello Mike? What the <expletive deleted> was dat?"

Mike says: Well we needed the money...besides AMD chips are good for us..."

Barrett: "click"

Barrett to Secretary: "Call Dell, tell them we have a better deal for him" "Call Gateway, tell Ted he won't have to talk to 'dat cow anymore".
