And it's my opinion, which has nothing to do with this discussion in particular, that Diana is sitting back while Jehovah and Muhammond thrash it out and will mop up the remains. Just my opinion.

O Sensei believed that there were 8,000,000 gods (at least) and room enough for all of them.

I don't understand the need to put one above the other. Or maybe it is simply "one story" above another?

I'm sick of that story with the ending in fire. I prefer the one that leads to light and beauty here on earth and within us.

Armaganden can kiss my ass. Ain't gonna happen.

Your mistake, at least from my perspective, is in how you define "all powerful". As I noted, God can't make square circles, so God is not "all powerful", at least not in the sense that you seem to be using it. Are you suggesting He should be able to? This seems to be the implication of your statement; "God can come up with any old morality he wants, which seems to make ethics arbitrary."

It does follow logically, that if there is no ultimate standard by which we can measure right and wrong, good and evil, then all morality is relative, and if it is relative, then the terms are meaningless. Since you disagree, perhaps you can demonstrate how we can arrive at absolute morality in a universe that is devoid of any absolute standards?
