I intellectually realize that intolerance is no more "evil" than tolerance in any "absolute" way- hence I am a relativist. However, I also intellectually realize that some views just work better for a growing world society than other views- this is the pragmatist/utilitarian in me. Where the pragmatist/utilitarian and the relativist meet- there are my values to be found. Nothing is absolutely wrong, but some things are inconvenient enough to have around (like beliefs that cause people to kill other people out of the blue) that they must be done away with. Just as if Ebola was wandering around. There is nothing absolutely wrong with or evil about the poor old Ebola virus. But it IS dangerous to humans, thus "bad" as far as we are concerned, and so to do away with it makes sense. I feel the same way about terrorists.
