>>It is universally acknowledged that the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were written before 70A.D.<<

This is untrue, but how can I convince you of this? I can send you many references that date the gospels later, but you could likewise turn around and send me references that date them early (before 70AD).

But, if I can send you a reference from somebody who is arguing for an early date, but who acknowledges that it is not accepted by the majority of scholarship, would that convince you that it is not "universally acknowledged" that the gospels were written pre-70AD?

(scroll down to "Date of Authorship")
"The standard dating for the original writings is, Mark in the 70s, Matthew and Luke in the 80s, and John in the 90s."

The article then goes on to argue for an earlier date, but just that opening sentence should tell you that most scholarship agrees with a post-70s date, in contrast to your claim of universal acknowledgement.

So I would not object to you arguing for an early dating of the gospels based on some sound reasoning, but I cannot accept your "everybody knows it" argument.

>>To the Jews, his prophesies of destruction were unthinkable nor foreseeable.<<

This is also untrue. Read Daniel 9:26.
Josephus tells us that the prophecies of Daniel were often interpreted to apply to his time by the zealots and the sicarii. The temple and jerusalem had to be destroyed to make way for the annointed one. Every potential messiah from 167 BC (when the temple was desecrated with the alter to Zeus) to 70AD predicted the destruction.
