The Canadian Stats surprised me too!
but Americans are actually less murderous than many Europeans, and even less murderous than cute and cuddly Canadians Huh! How do you get that ?

Well here are some interesting statistics about
international homicide rates. Turns out that Brazilians
are 4 times more murderous than Americans. But the murder
champions are South Africans. The US murder rate is a lot
lower than CB reported. Her figures are probably from
earlier years and are consistent across countries, unlike
these ones. In the last couple of years murder rates in
the US have dropped considerably, whereas those of most of
the rest of the world increased.
