I have always thought that criticism is the healthiest sign of a democracy. A lack of dissidence is what defines a fascist state.

Regardless, I find Jim Rogers to be a major supporter of America. He is constantly talking about how countries should make their stock markets as transparent as ours, and their economies as open as ours.

Remember how for years Jim was saying that Russia's reforms are a sham, the gangsters are stealing everything, it is no place to invest? Everybody else was talking bullish on Russia right up until the Russian market collapsed in the summer of 1998, nearly taking down the entire global financial system with it. Including Jim's old hedge fund partner George Soros, who suffered a bloodbath with Russia's collapse. Thank you, Jim Rogers, for going against the Wall Street party line, and telling us the truth.
