Even animals exhibit kindness within their broods. The Black Widow spider is probably the kindest of all creatures when it comes to raising their young. She is the essence of motherhood. That is why I use it as an insult, to say that a Black Widow spider would orphan someone. You have to be pretty bad off for a Black Widow spider to orphan you.

But, is the Black Widow spider kind to everyone? No.

That is what sets us apart from animals. The propensity, even the existence of this propensity, to be universally kind.

And, yes, a reward is not the main motivation for achieving universal kindness. However, the recognition of an after life is a key step to understanding how to overcome illusions of petty emotions that stand in our way of seeing our Essence.
